Can spare some time and your skills, to support our community focussed local vaccination service and play your part in the Local COVID-19 Vaccination programme.

 

The team atmosphere and reward from delivering this service is second to none and we are working out of a unique and remarkable location, unlike anywhere you will have worked before!

What will you do as a volunteer Vaccinator or HCP at Batchwood?

You will complete online training through e-learning as well as face to face induction, supervision and assessments for vaccinators. Once you are fully vetted and trained, with the relevant compliance and checks completed, you may be responsible for performing the following:

  • HCPs will perform screening and assessment of service users 

  • Set up/configuration of the vaccination station

  • Drawing up and preparation of the vaccine prior to administration

  • Vaccine administration, using the National Protocol

  • Disposal of clinical waste and change of PPE as per national guidelines

  • Adherence to infection control practices between individuals

 

What will you do as a volunteer Administrator?

You will complete online training through e-learning as well as face to face induction and  supervision. Once you are fully vetted and trained, with the relevant compliance and checks completed, you will be responsible for performing and/or supervising the following:

  • Perform reception duties, arriving patients

  • Data input of patient details

  • General administration duties

 

Where will you be working?

The St Albans site is located in a unique setting, within Club Batchwood (aka Batchwood Hall) Batchwood Drive, St Albans, AL3 5XA.  There is parking and bicycle racks available on site.  This is a non-NHS setting and in fact an ex nightclub that we have repurposed to be able to offer the vaccine locally, at scale. 

 

What about indemnity for HCPs and vaccinators?

You will be indemnified as part of the Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practice (CNSGP https://resolution.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/COVID-19-Vaccinations-NHS-Staff-Indemnity-FAQs-1.pdf

  • If you currently work within General Practice within St Albans, please do NOT apply, instead talk to your practice manager who will be able to advise of local opportunities.
