HOW to book

When it is your turn to be vaccinated, you will be invited by your GP.

You will receive a text message, inviting you to book online, or a phone call if you do not have a mobile phone number recorded on your patient notes.

If you try to book online and receive a message suggesting there are no appointments, this means that all the appointments for our next session are full, however you will receive another text just as soon as our next vaccine delivery from NHS England is confirmed and we recommend you book straight away.

There remains a national vaccine supply shortage at present, however we have vaccinated over 45,000 local patients already and we are assured there will be enough vaccine for everyone. We have offered vaccination to all patients aged 50 and over, plus those who are clinically extremely vulnerable, plus health and social care workers.

If you receive a letter from NHS England inviting you to book, unfortunately this will not give you Batchwood or Harpenden as an option, as we use a local booking system.

Where will I go?

You do not need to travel far to receive your vaccination. Vaccines will be offered locally, by your GP practices from 2 central locations;

Are you registered with a GP in St Albans, Redbourn, London Colney or Bricket Wood? Then you will be invited to attend St Albans local vaccination centre

Are you registered with a GP in Harpenden? Then you will be invited to attend Harpenden local vaccination centre

Info for St Albans service users:

We recommend you drive or are driven to

the vaccine site.  If you do not have transport, you can contact NHS Volunteer Responders or local taxi service Corkers Cars who are not affiliated with us but are offering support with 'Cabs for Jabs' to the elderly and vulnerable patients.

If you have not been to Batchwood before,

you will find the historical site at the end of a

long driveway (approx 1mile), follow the yellow signs for 'Vaccination Centre'.

We have Traffic Marshalls to direct you where to park or drop off. We have access to the top car park, whilst Golf & leisure users are using the lower car park.

You will see Batchwood Hall on your left

(as pictured).

Here you will be met by one of our

volunteer marshalls, who will be able to provide wheelchair and ramp assistance if required.

To help us maintain social distance and patient flow, you may be asked to wait outside or in your vehicle until your appointment time.

Please wear warm clothes, our vaccination centre will be kept well ventilatedwe recommend layers and something that will allow you to easily expose your arm for vaccination.

Alternative Vaccination Locations - outside of St Albans & Harpenden

You may receive an invitation to book your Covid-19 vaccination appointment now, as part of a national wider NHS scheme, this service is outside of your GP practice plans and is operated externally.

We are aware you may have to drive to approx. 45 mins to receive a vaccination at one of these sites and the advice within this letter does say you can choose to ignore it.

We would like to assure you that if you choose to ignore this letter inviting you to book a location that requires you to travel some considerable distance for a vaccination, you will still be invited to attend St Albans or Harpenden for vaccination by your local GP practice team.

If you have already received your first dose locally, you should wait until your GP practice invites you in for your second dose.
