Batchwood in the News

The Local Vaccination Service #LVS at Batchwood Hall has featured in a number of Press and Media articles.  The historic location Batchwood Hall was designed in the Queen Anne style and built for Edmund Beckett, 1st Baron Grimthorpe in the 1874, it was last used as a nightclub venue, and is still know as 'Club Batchwood'.   Transforming this venue into a vaccine setting has been quite an experience and each session is a rewarding and at times emotional event, for all involved in the programme; Patients and Carers, Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physios, Paramedics, Trainees, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators, HCAs, Volunteers, Practice Staff, GP Federation staff, working on the front line, back office or shielding at home.  We have achieved the extraordinary through a community focussed, collaborative approach, working closely with St Albans District Council, Herts Valleys CCG, St Albans Fire Service, Communities 1st and local supermarkets and schools who have been generous with donations and loaned equipment.
